Coalfire Appoints Mike Weber as Managing Director of Coalfire Labs

Veteran Security Professional to Expand Services and Double Coalfire Labs Staff

Louisville, Colo. (November 2, 2011) – Coalfire, a leading independent IT audit and risk assessment firm, announced today that Mike Weber will act as the managing director of Coalfire Labs. In this role, Weber will continue to expand Coalfire’s presence in the Governance, Rick and Compliance (GRC) industry and serve clients in the Rocky Mountain region.

“Weber will oversee the operations of Coalfire Labs division which includes penetration testing, digital forensics and incident response services,” said Rick Dakin, CEO and chief security strategist of Coalfire. “These divisions are a crucial part of our operations. Weber has a wealth of experience and will help to expand the focus of the Labs by contributing valuable techniques and strategy to grow our business.”

Before joining Coalfire, Weber worked for Critigen as the director of security services and managed a team of information security analysts and consultants performing assessment and consultation services for clients worldwide. Prior to Critigen, Weber worked at CH2M HILL, working on professional services engagements including serving as deputy chief information security officer at the State of Colorado and Director of Cyber Security at Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site.
