May 17, 2017

Westminster, CO – May 17, 2017 – Coalfire, a leader in cybersecurity risk management and compliance services, today announced that it has been selected as a partner for the Microsoft Security Program for Azure IoT. As a security auditor in the program, Coalfire empowers enterprises to leverage IoT, which enables them to transform their businesses while addressing security and privacy risks associated with the IoT infrastructure.

As part of the program, Coalfire will deliver independently validated security assessments and a holistic approach to securing IoT initiatives from the ground up to help Microsoft enterprise customers manage and deploy IoT solutions faster. Coalfire has secured devices, connections, and the cloud for organizations in automotive, manufacturing, healthcare, utilities, public sector and retail for years – even before IoT became a buzz phrase.

“Being selected for the Microsoft Security Program for Azure IoT reinforces our position as a trusted advisor to cloud service providers and their enterprise customers, and underscores our commitment to protecting information and privacy,” said Kennet Westby, president and senior security strategist at Coalfire. “We look forward to working with Microsoft to offer their customers independent security assessments and additional guidance, giving them the peace of mind that their IoT initiatives are secure.”

Launched in October 2016, the Security Program for Azure IoT provides Microsoft customers access to best-in-class, independent auditors that have demonstrated an ability to help enterprises manage risk on top of Microsoft’s existing IoT offering. With the added services and capabilities this program offers, Microsoft and its partners are providing a superior level of industry leading risk management, assessment and technical testing expertise that more effectively meets customer needs as the IoT evolves.

“As the world becomes increasingly connected, customers are looking for assurances that they’ve developed their IoT infrastructure in a way that poses minimal risk,” said Sam George, Director, Azure IoT, Microsoft Corp. “We’re thrilled to have Coalfire join our other partners in the Security Program for Azure IoT to help customers evaluate their end-to-end IoT infrastructure and manage their security risk in the ongoing effort to preserve and grow their brands in the face of cyber threat activity.”
