Coalfire Receives Investment from The Carlyle Group and The Chertoff Group

Larry Jones, CEO

I’m pleased to announce that we recently closed on a significant investment from The Carlyle Group and The Chertoff Group – two prestigious investment groups that both have extensive experience in the cybersecurity space. The selection of these two firms came after an extensive six-month process of choosing from many interested parties.

Carlyle is one of the largest growth capital firms in the world. Their endorsement is a huge commendation of what we have built over the past 14 years. Chertoff Group is a world renowned cybersecurity advisory firm founded by the ex-Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. They have been a partner of ours for several years and it is great that we will be able to partner even closer now.

This investment will enable us to focus on several important initiatives we’ve recently talked about:

-    Growing our leadership position in the cyber risk management market
-    Recruiting, hiring and retaining top talent
-    Expanding our Labs services, CRA practice and Navis platform capabilities

In addition, this investment will enable us to invest more in sales, marketing and engineering. We will also use this financing to more aggressively hire and develop world-class talent and invest in our back-office systems and processes.

Because of the growth in the cybersecurity industry, an investment from Carlyle and Chertoff is a game changer for Coalfire. Our new partners understand the unique value of Coalfire and what we’ve been building toward over the years, and they will help open new doors to capitalize on the tremendous market opportunity that’s in front of us. We have established a good presence within the key markets and geographies necessary to grow, and thanks to our technical and industry expertise, we are uniquely qualified to enter a new stage of growth and help our clients meet compliance requirements and fundamental security needs in their industries.

Thanks to everyone involved for helping take Coalfire to the next level!

Larry Jones
