• Coalfire’s European Growth Powered by New Funding and Surge in ISO 27001 services

New Investment Broadens Global Cybersecurity Reach

Manchester, EnglandOctober 1, 2015 – Coalfire, a leader in cybersecurity risk management and compliance services, today announced its international growth with the opening of its European hub in Manchester, England. With its new European headquarters, Coalfire is better positioned to assist enterprises in understanding and managing their information security requirements, exposure to laws relating to the protection of personally identifiable information (PII), and overall cyber-risk.

Given the increasing reliance on data transmission and the wide-ranging data privacy laws across many countries, businesses of all types are looking to support their global business efforts by seeking certification to universally recognised security benchmarks, such as ISO 27001.

Companies such as third parties and service providers are also adopting ISO 27001 companion certifications, such as ISO 27018, to demonstrate their secure handling of PII in the cloud.

“We are seeing greater traction in the U.S. market for ISO 27001 and ISO 27018, as organisations look to certify to international standards to support their global growth and network reach. We are also seeing greater demand for these compliance needs in the European Union,” said Bao Le, ISO services practice lead at Coalfire.

Coalfire is currently an accredited Certification Body for ISO 27001, certified by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB), a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF)

Coalfire can currently provide the following Certification services to its European clients:

    • ISO 27001: information security management
    • ISO 27018: protection of personally identifiable information in the cloud

The ISO certification process can be done in conjunction with other industry-required compliance initiatives such as PCI DSS and SOC.

Through its recent major investment from the Carlyle Group and the Chertoff Group, Coalfire is well-positioned to meet the demand of today’s global information security issues, including the continued rise and sophistication of cloud and mobile technologies. With the IT and security talent shortage continuing to climb higher around the world, Coalfire is positioned to solve the need for outsourced cybersecurity services and technologies.

“Our recent investment from The Carlyle Group and The Chertoff Group provides us with momentum to broaden our cybersecurity offerings both domestically and internationally,” said Larry Jones, chairman and CEO, Coalfire. “Cybercrime is a global issue, and as we continue to see hackers operate in multiple industries, everyone can benefit greatly from consistent implementation of sophisticated cyber-risk solutions”
