• Coalfire Names New Board Members

    Appointees Add Significant Experience and Expertise in Cybersecurity


    WESTMINSTER, Colo - January 05, 2016 - Coalfire, a leader in cybersecurity risk management and compliance services, today announced the addition of four new board members: Sam Sliman, Charles Rossotti, Brooke Coburn and Stephen Bailey. With these additions, Coalfire gains further strategic guidance to elevate the company’s profile in the cybersecurity industry, with a particular focus on the risk assessment and compliance segment.

    Bringing more than 20 years of experience working with technology companies, Sam Sliman serves as chairman of the board for Coalfire. Prior to joining Coalfire’s board, Sliman founded Gulfscape Ventures, which specializes in investing in technology ventures. He has also served as president and chairman for Optimal Solutions, where he was responsible for leading its global team’s revenue from $18 million to $170 million before it was acquired by NTT DATA. As the chairman of the board, Sliman leads Coalfire’s board of directors and acts as the liaison between the board and the company’s management.

    An operating executive for The Carlyle Group, Charles Rossotti joins the Coalfire board with more than 27 years of experience founding and leading IT companies. Rossotti’s current work focuses on evaluating investments in information technology and business services. Throughout his career, Rossotti has held many senior management and leadership roles, including commissioner for the Internal Revenue Service, principal deputy assistant secretary in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and co-founder and CEO of American Management Systems, Inc., where he helped grow its revenues to more than $1 billion. Additionally, Rossotti is the chairman and lead independent director of AES Corporation and previously served as a director for Bank of America.

    Two managing directors on The Carlyle Group’s U.S. mid-market investment team also join Coalfire’s board: Brooke Coburn, a 20-year Carlyle veteran who is also co-head of the mid-market fund, and Stephen Bailey, a 10-year veteran of the firm. Coburn and Bailey leverage Carlyle’s network and industry expertise to drive innovation, growth and value creation.
