HIPAA Compliance and Call Centers

In a previous post titled "Is It Safe to Speak? Protection for Telephone-Based Payment Card Data", I commented on the PCI SSC new requirements for call center operations and recording systems.

Call center security has been a hot topic for a long time. How safe is the information that is given over the phone?  Especially in the healthcare industry, patient privacy is paramount.

Recently, Alpine Access, the premier provider of virtual contact center solutions and services, underwent an audit for compliance with the HIPAA and HITECH Act data security requirements. Our audit found that the company’s current data security program incorporates all necessary controls to meet the new rules for protecting patient privacy.

In addition to meeting all HIPAA and HITECH requirements, Alpine Access has also been PCI DSS Level certified for three years in row.  Alpine Access is taking a leadership position within the healthcare industry to provide a secure service as the way we share information changes.
