FedRAMP Prioritization

August 29, 2016, Abel Sussman, Director, TAAS – Public Sector and Cyber Risk Advisory, Coalfire

Coalfire has been participating in the American Council for Technology and the Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) Cloud Computing community of interest in order to contribute in developing the new FedRAMP JAB Prioritization process.

JAB Prioritization is a new initiative to expand cloud adoption for services that are critical or innovative to the federal government. CSP’s that are “Prioritized” will be put at the front of the Provisional Authorization to Operate (P-ATO) queue. GSA’s FedRAMP team has generated some initial criteria on vendor prioritization that includes vendor preferences, FedRAMP Readiness results, and a demand from six or more agencies for products or services.

Coalfire participated in a working group comprised of other Third Party Assessment Organizations providing insight from what we see within industry. We expressed the need to develop clear metrics and provided a methodology to evaluate CSPs that want to be Prioritized.

The FedRAMP PMO would like to hear from others in the industry! Please take the time to fill out this questionnaire about FedRAMP Prioritization
