• Former DHS Deputy Under Secretary for Cybersecurity Mark Weatherford Joins Coalfire Advisory Board

    Weatherford to provide thought leadership on cybersecurity

    DENVER – April 25, 2013 Coalfire announced today that Mark Weatherford, the former top cybersecurity official at the Department of Homeland Security, has joined the Coalfire Advisory Board. With decades of cybersecurity experience, Weatherford has vast knowledge of the cybersecurity threat space and critical infrastructure protection.

    Weatherford has held a number of top IT security posts. Before joining the Department of Homeland Security, he served as vice president and chief security officer at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation. Prior to this position, he was appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to serve as California’s first Chief Information Security Officer, and he was also appointed by two successive governors to the position of Chief Information Security Officer for the State of Colorado.
     
    Weatherford was recently named a Principal in the Chertoff Group, a global security advisory firm that provides consulting, risk management and merger and acquisition advisory services.
