Over 60 executive level attendees came to the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield, Colorado for the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs (NCHELP) Spring convention and to hear from a panel of cloud experts on how the migration to cloud IT services could impact their business in the future.

First, many of the attendees wanted a more precise definition of the cloud. It has been used in so many ways; the entire understanding of the services, risk and benefits was becoming “clouded”. The audience then became interested in what the differences are between cloud based services and dedicated services that they may be using today. Finally, they wanted to know what the benefits of cloud migration are, and what are some of the risks that the media keeps highlighting?

Led by moderator, Jeff Gammon, CIO of CollegeInvest, the panel quickly started addressing the issues presented by the audience. Click here to download the free Perspective document that covers the panel discussion.

Topics include:

  1. How does "the Cloud" benefit my organization?
  2. What are the trends in cloud adoption?
  3. What are the risks in migrating to the cloud and how do I maintain compliance with multiple data privacy regulations?
  4. When talking to cloud service providers, what questions should I ask?

Let us know what challenges you are facing or what questions you may have in adopting cloud services, or compliance in the cloud, in the comments below.
